For this project we were asked to find objects that looked like letters, numbers and punctuation however we were not allowed to use pre-exsisting letters. When finding these letters I looked for lines, forms and curves.I found this topic very challenging as it was my first time working with a professional camera and not a phone camera. It was very difficult as first however
Shoot One
The first shoot was taken on a camera and I made all of my photos black and white using light room. And then I put a high contrast on all of them so that they stand out from the background. These images from my first shoot were taken at college and in the park opposite college. I think that my best photos were taken in my first shoot as the camera was higher quality and I was more focused whilst taking them. I think they're good because they are high quality and they are easily recognisable as letters. My favourite photos of the letters are the A, H and F as the are my highest quality images from my shoot and they are in focus.
Shoot One - Edited
Shoot Two
I did my second shoot at home using my iPhone camera these are the my un-edited versions of my images.
Shoot Two - Edited
These are the edited versions of my second shoot which was done at home. To edit these images I used light room and turned all of the images black and white as I wanted this to be a running theme for this project. Again i put the contrast on high and reduced the saturation. My favourite images from my shoot are the letters : C, B and M. I like these images as they are easily recognisable as the letters they are meant to be.
Shoot Three
I did this shoot when I borrowed a camera from college over the weekend. This is my smallest shoot for this project.
Shoot Three - Edited
When editing my final shoot I again used the black and white filter and set the contrast to high. I did this so that the photos would stick with my theme of black and white and I put the contrast on high to make the letters easier to see. My favourite letters from this shoot are O, J and W.
Words
Here I have been asked to spell a word using the letters I found in the natural enviroment.
